Crystal Chip is designed and distributed with
the sole purpose of providing a platform for using "homebrew"
(aka "unsigned") code and unofficial (aka "3rd party")
hardware. Crystal Chip is not intended to be used for the purpose
of illegally reproducing copyrighted software or defeating the territorial
limitations of PlayStation® and/or PlayStation®2 games.
By purchasing and installing a Crystal Chip, the user agrees to
use Crystal Chip in accordance with all local laws. It is the responsibility
of the user to follow any applicable license agreements for software
they intend to use with the Crystal Chip hardware.
Installation and/or use of unlicensed (aka "unsigned"
or "3rd party") software and/or hardware may void your
manufacturer's warranty. Please consult your owner's manual(s) or
contact your equipment manufacturer for more information.
Installing Crystal Chip requires soldering to fine-pitched
electronic components and handling components which may contain
dangerous voltages. Improper precautions when handling electronic
equipment may lead to physical injury, fire or cause damage to your
electronic equipment. Crystal Chip should only be installed by someone
who is skilled with a soldering iron and has experience working
with electronic equipment. If you are in any way unsure as to your
ability to perform the installation or procure all necessary tools,
PLEASE do not attempt to install Crystal Chip yourself as improper
installation may damage your PlayStation®2 and/or Crystal Chip.
There are a number of professional installation services available
throughout the world. When in doubt, let a professional do it for
you.
